The Level 4 Award in External Quality Assurance qualifies you to quality assure the work of assessment centres on behalf of an awarding organisation. What the qualification covers

The award has two units:

• understanding the principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assessment;
• externally assuring the quality of assessment, the practical unit evidenced through real EQA activity with centres.

Do I need access to centres to complete this? Yes. The practical unit is evidenced through real external quality assurance activity, normally arranged through an awarding organisation or your employer.

Is this the qualification that replaced external verification? Yes, it is the current regulated qualification for the external verifier role.

Can I use my IQA experience? It helps enormously, and many candidates build on it, but the external evidence itself must be external sampling activity.
